Arrive in Egypt’s energetic capital, meet your local representative and transfer to your accommodation. Settle in before receiving an introduction to the country and the journey ahead.
Visit the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx before continuing to Memphis and Saqqara. Pupils will investigate royal power, ancient beliefs, burial traditions and the development of monumental architecture.
Explore a major collection of Ancient Egyptian artefacts before visiting the Citadel and one of Cairo’s historic mosques. Finish at Khan el-Khalili, where traditional crafts and busy streets reveal another side of the city.
Fly south to Aswan and board your Nile cruise. Visit the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple to learn about engineering, stoneworking and the preservation of ancient monuments.
Sail along the Nile to Kom Ombo and explore its unusual riverside temple. Discover its symmetrical design, ancient medical carvings and dedication to the gods Sobek and Horus before continuing towards Edfu.
Visit the remarkably preserved Temple of Edfu before sailing to Luxor. Explore the East Bank, including the vast Karnak Temple Complex and Luxor Temple, while learning about religious life in Ancient Egypt.
Cross to Luxor’s West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Afterwards, fly back to Cairo and transfer to your accommodation.
After breakfast, transfer to Cairo International Airport for the return journey, taking home a deeper understanding of Egyptian civilisation and life along the Nile.
